What Will My Web Address Be?
We are currently offering three domains that you can choose from:
1. wso.net
Your web address would be http://desired_subname.wso.net
2. mav.net
Your web address would be http://desired_subname.mav.net
3. securepage.com
Your web address would be http://desired_subname.securepage.com
For Example: http://mysite.wso.net
All three domain names are short and ambiguous. This is important because people who see
your address will not associate wso, mav, or securepage with a particular company, allowing your name to become the focus of the address.
With many other companies their obvious company name is attached to your web address, plus their web addresses usually include the tilde "~" character before your directory name, which just confuses web surfers. We don't do this!
Remember, all three domain names have the EXACT same functionality, it is the account package that determines the features for your account. If you are looking for an account that lets you have your own, full, unique domain name, check out either our Virtual Domain or Commerce Plus accounts.
Internet Connectivity: OC-3, OC-12, and OC-48
 Our lines are supplied by various providers including UUnet, Savvis, Winstar and FNSI. In house OC-3 connectivity out to local OC-12's and OC-48's cross-country. To understand how large this is consider that most local dial-up ISP's use several T1 lines for ALL their customers. Just one OC3 line has 84 times the bandwidth of a single T1!
UNLIMITED Data Transfer (hits) to Your Account
With all that bandwidth available from the T3 your probably wondering how much it's going to cost to move all this information -- NOTHING! We have an unlimited transfer policy. That means you can move as much data through your account as you want, 24 hours a day. Not many other companies offer this combination of a T3 and unlimited transfer. FREE Secure Server Certificate Use!
ALL WSO account types accounts can use our shared secure server called www.securepage.com. You can use this for on-line commerce or any other application that requires secure communications.
We use Thawte secure certificates that are completely compatible with both Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer. Virtual Domain and Commerce Plus customers can purchase their own certificate from either Thawte or VeriSign if they do not wish to use our shared secure server. 
POP3 E-Mail Account
You might be saying, "I already have an E-Mail account with my dial-up ISP, why would I need another?" Here's why. Having a separate E-Mail account allows you to collect and send mail. This means you can do all your business or Web site related correspondence through your SubDomain account, and personal correspondence through your dial-up ISP account. It makes keeping your E-Mail organized easier and makes you look more professional by having a dedicated business E-Mail address. Note, your E-Mail address will be: username@wso.net or username@mav.net, depending on which domain you choose.
FTP Account
FTP is the way you upload your Web pages to our servers. By using FREE software you can update your web site any time you wish.
UNIX Shell (SSH/Telnet) Account
A UNIX shell account is used through a SSH/Telnet connection. SSH/Telnet lets you work at the command prompt of the server from a remote location (your home or business).
Some people will never need to use their
shell account, but it is included in our package in case you do! See our Cool 'Net Downloads section for a free SSH/Telnet program.
15 MB's Disk Space
In today's world of multi-gigabyte hard drives, 15 MB's sounds pretty small. But consider this, take a look around at our Web site. All of these pages and graphics only take up around FIVE megabytes! Since the needs of some my require more space, we offer blocks of 5 megabytes for only $3.00/month. That's only $.60/MB! Some companies charge up to two dollars or more per megabyte.
UNLIMITED E-Mail Forwarding Addresses (aliases)
An alias is a forwarding address to another account. The best way to describe it is by example.
Say you want all mail sent to the address 'friends@your_domain_name' to be forwarded to  your personal account with your dial-up ISP. You can create an alias called 'friends@your_domain_name' and anytime mail comes for this address it will be redirected to your personal account (which you'll supply the address for). You can also point an alias to the POP3 E-Mail account that comes with your account. This would allow your business to receive mail for multiple people by using a filter in your E-Mail program
to sort incoming mail into separate folders. Aliases can be confusing, if your not sure how it works, drop us a note and we'll help you out! But to make things easier, we provide FREE E-Mail Routing Editor software, accessed through the WSO SupportCenter, that let's you add and remove aliases with ease.
CGI Ability
Although CGI programming itself is not for the faint-of-heart, many pre-written CGI programs, or scripts, are available on the web, most for free! Things like form processing, guestbooks, etc. are all available. You'll be able to setup and run CGI scripts from within your account. And, since our hardware and software are industry standard, you don't have to worry about compatibility issues.
Miva Script Included FREE
Miva Script is one of hottest scripting languages on the Web. It let's you use the power of CGI without the headaches and learning curve associate with CGI programming. Miva uses an HTML like syntax, is browser independent, supports easily understood programming constructs like IF statements and LOOPING, and makes programming fun again -- you have to try it! Luckily, we have the newest version installed on our server right now for you to use, free! This is software that would normally cost hundreds of dollars!
Detailed Usage / Access Statistics
You want to know what, how many, and when people come to your Web site, right? You got it. At ANY time you can produce a statistic report over a range of dates that tells you as much about the people, and the browsers they use, as possible. Our logs even include a referring address. This allows you to see the Web address of the last page your visitor came from, letting you trace back through search engines (to see where you stand in the rankings) and jump to other pages that have links to your
page on them. You can see trends and decide where your traffic is coming from. Not only is it practical, but it's fun!

WSO SupportCenter
 With every account comes access to the WSO SupportCenter where you receive personalized account support. Available are an array of "Tech Support" articles as well as utilities to change your log rotation settings, edit your e-mail aliases, check your disk space usage, and view your account information. This is not generic "fill-in-the-blank" support, our tech support articles are dynamically generated so that examples are shown using YOUR account information.
We have exclusive utilities available like CounterMaker. Just fill out the easy form and automatically produce the HTML to create counters, clocks, and date displays for your web pages.
